Friday, we had a field trip for our Cities, Towns, and Villas on-site class to Pompeii. We left Rome at 7am and took a bus about 3 hours South to Pompeii. We were a little underwhelmed when we found out it looked a lot like the Roman Forum (that we go to about twice a week for class), but we still got to see some cool places. We visited the Ampitheater of Pompeii, the Temple of Apollo, the Temple of Isis, lots of fresco paintings, the Villa of Mysteries, and even got to see Mt. Vesuvius! The most interesting thing we saw were the actual remains of humans in the positions they had been in when Vesuvius erupted - gross, but really cool!
