Friday, a professor from the Notre Dame School of Architecture in Rome took our whole ND group an hour south of Rome to a town called Bracciano. We got a tour of Odescalchi Castle, which is where Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes got married. I decided to have an abdominal migraine in one of the gardens at the castle since I apparently love getting sick at historical sites, so we now refer to it as "Vom Castle." After our tour, we went to a restaurant on the water called Le Papere. They served us a real Italian meal - antipasti, spaghetti and ravioli, fish with potato from Lake Bracciano, tiramisu, and espresso. We went to the beach by the restaurant after our two hour lunch and got to take paddleboats onto the lake and swim. So far, this trip is just one big vacation.
