After two weeks of walking at least 3 miles a day (usually more) on cobblestone, my feet were KILLING and I reallyyy didn't want to have to wear my favorite boot in Rome, so we had been searching for days and days for Birkenstock sandals, which every Italian woman has. The first time we tried we got lost looking for the shoe store, then we went back and they didn't have the right color, and twice it was closed when we got there, so I was SO excited to finally get my Birkenstocks, especially since they were the last pair in stock! (yes, excited enough that Kathryn even took pictures in the store to document it..)
