Saturday, we got croissants in Amalfi and then took the aliscafo (high speed ferry) to Capri, which was about an hour boat ride from the coast. Capri is known for it's Blue Grotto (Grotto Azzurro), which are caves in the island with really blue water that you can take a boat to and swim in. We wanted to see them, but were told they were closed because of the wind...which supposedly actually means the locals just want to swim there that day. Instead, we walked around, got fresh prosciutto and mozzarella sandwiches (love those), and went to an amazingly pretty beach for the day. We got to watch the sunset during our ferry ride back to Amalfi, which was a perfect end to the day.
